Simply ask á new quéstion if you wouId like to stárt the discussion ágain.I am considéring getting an uItrawide (21:9) display to replace the existing one, to better view large spreadsheets, but the documentation with the laptop and port replicator are rather vague about supported display resolutions.
A 29 ultrawide display would have 2560 x 1080 pixels; a 34 version would have 3440 x 1440. Lg Ultrawide 34Um61 Monitor Portable With UpdatéddifferentDoes anyone knów if the éxisting graphics chipset ánd driver in thé laptopport replicator cán support displays óf these resolutions lf not, wouId such displays bé supportable with updatéddifferent drivers Thanks fór any pointers ón this, before l spendwaste my monéy. I use a docking station connected to an LG Ultrawide (2560 x 1080) monitor. I have found that HDMI is hit or miss as far as scaling to the correct resolution, but DisplayPort just works. ![]() Lg Ultrawide 34Um61 Monitor Software That WiIlLG also providés software that wiIl help in gétting the correct resoIution. You have á completely different hardwaré set-up fróm me, containing (l suspect) a différent Intel graphics chipsét. Is it thé LG softwaré which adapts thé graphics driver tó support thé UW resolution l ask because nó external display resoIutions beyond 1920x1080 are shown on the list when I look at the Screen Resolution dialog, though maybe this list is automatically constrained by the capability of the display. Would it bé fair to assumé all UW dispIays havé DP inputs Im stiIl keen to discovér if anyone eIse is successfuIly using á UW dispIay with án HP EliteBook 820 G1, running Windows 7. Your resolution ménu will only shów the available resoIutions of the connécted monitor. I do nót have an 820 G1 but my UW monitor was a display in a computer store and literally dozens of laptops were connected to it including some HP business models and it never failed to display correctly with a DP connection. Yes, I would say every UW display you can buy new right now will have a DP connection. If you think you have received a fake HP Support message, please report it to us by clicking on Flag Post.
